ABOUT

The WNCDGA High School League is run and organized by (mostly school-based) volunteers, with assistance from (and in association with) the WNCDGA Board of Directors. The league is also extremely proud to work with a number of leading brands in Disc Golf as sponsors and league supporters.

The league has been around since 2012(!) and you can learn more about our history and check out our records on the history page

The league’s primary goal is to teach, promote, and grow the sport of disc golf among high school aged players in the WNC area. The league is dedicated to providing opportunities for students to learn and play disc golf at low-to-no cost. The league also aims to provide opportunities for local students to meet, play with, and compete against similarly aged players in the area.

The league is open to any high school aged students in WNC. While schools are included in some of the team scoring aspects, students may participate alone and/or unaffiliated with any school. Students who have not yet entered 9th grade or who have already graduated may not participate in league events (unless specifically identified as Middle School events). Students of public school, home school, private school, charter school, etc. are all welcome to participate.

The WNCHSDG is currently directed by Kyle Silva, 10 year coach and teacher in Buncombe County (Owen HS) and member of the PDGA's youth and education committee. Members of the WNCHSDG leadership include Brett Johnson (WNCDGA board member), Ken Tyburski (Christ School), Aaron Westhusing (Fern Leaf Chater and Fall middle school league director), and Mack Tobias (FRMS).

Currently, there are three divisions available for players to participate in:

Recently, we have had students participate from:
